The GPIB bus is a digital 24-wire (flat interface socket) parallel bus. Among them, 16 lines are TTL level signal transmission lines, including 8 bidirectional data lines, 5 interface management lines, and 3 data transmission control lines; the other 8 are ground lines and shielded lines. GPIB uses 8-bit parallel, byte-serial, and asynchronous communication, all bytes are transmitted sequentially over the bus
