This historic half dollar commemorates the 100th anniversary of the dedication of America’s beloved Statue of Liberty – and helped raise funds for its restoration. Designed by Edgar Steever, the obverse depicts a ship with immigrants being greeted by the Statue of Liberty. Sheryl Joseph Winter’s reverse shows a family arriving at America’s threshold and the inscription a NATION OF IMMIGRANTS.
